Meet Milo!like I said in my last post he is a 16hh quarter horse draft mix. He is hugeeee next to me. He has the prettiest ears and face. Today is be fourth day I’ve had him, the second day I was leading him around the arena and just tossed the rope over his back and he trotted with me 🙂 he has barley been ridden or lead for the past three years. I’m extremely excited for our journey together.
Heyyy guys, it’s been a long time. I have so very exiting news! Welcome my new project horse Milo!I will add more photos of him probably tomorrow, he is a 16hh quarter horse mix. He is about 16-17 but he is still in really good shape. In other news i did a blogging workshop with my schools, I taught to small business owners. I love having a blog and finally I’ll have some new content to post! I love to get my opinion out there and talk about my love of horses, you all have amazing blogs that I absolutely love to read!

so last summer I was riding a lesson horse in our outdoor arena, my assistant trainer was giving my best friend, another girl, and I a lesson. When it came time to canter the girl in front of me went first, I like to take my time start my canter. So I was waiting for her to get far enough because the horse I was riding (rooskie) is a speed demon. I ask him to canter by turning him to the rail and giving him a kick and a cluck, this horse decides to bolt into the center. I lost my right stirrup and my reins so I was hanging on to dear life. Oh and I should mention he is the only horse I have ever fallen off. My assistant trainer held her hands out to grab his bridle, so he darted the other direction. My food got trapped in my stirrup so I got dragged a little. I managed to reach up and grab my foot out but when I came off my foot was bent the wrong direction. I walked the the gazebo to sit down and take off my boot. Everyone said I was okay and that it was just a sprain. My trainer had to ride with us to go get his truck, the whole ride there I was holding back tears because it hurt so bad. Everyone said I was faking the pain. We finally went to the doctor three days later everyone was in shock when they said my ankle was fractured 🙂 if you worry about falling don’t be, everyone falls just make sure you have protection. Take it from me, if you’re worrying about falling it takes away the joy of riding. Riding without a helmet doesn’t make you “cool”.
I’m super hyped about November, once November comes I can finally get my project horse. For months I have been restoring old tack just getting ready, if any of you are interested in my selection of tack just contact me! This week I have been reading May as well event, she’s so inspiring to me so please go check her out at May as well event.
Hey guys! As I grow I really would like to try new things, one of those things is horse awards if you guys wanna check it out I will link it below! Blogging has been so much fun if you have any comments about tips or tricks about training an eventing horse just let me know.
So recently we have been searching around for different horses, preferably something I can work on over the winter. I never really wanted just a thing that can be bought right away. We had thought about slaughter house horses but it would be hard to get something a ride to our city. But we found a rescue ebter near our house and we are going to go check that out. I would like something that could be an eventer but I’ll see. One story on the horse I really liked was so sad, his old owners didn’t want him anymore so they just sent him away for the cheapest they could.
This is not going to be hate on crops or bits but if you get offended by those things please leave this post.
Hey guys! About a year before I quit saddleseat I really noticed a lot of abuse. Not at my own barn just everywhere, mostly shows. I preferibly wouldn’t like to use a bit with my new training horse but he needs one for about a week. The horse that I am currently looking at needs some of help. He hasn’t been ridden a lot due to his previous owner getting injured, he needs some veterinary work as well. After I finish getting him back to his old routine I’m going to get a bit less bridle preferably. One thing that I will NEVER do again is ride with a crop or anything that can inflict any pain to him. I don’t care if people use crops it’s just not my style. Thanks for reading, I know it’s a very controversial topic but at the end of the day we love our horses and our horses love us.
as I’ve started to get a horse for myself to train there has been a lot of changes. From a competitive world champion to all around riding. People send me tack they don’t want/need anymore and I resell it on a tack selling and trading app called TackHunter. My recent peice was a A/P saddle. It is an older brand but it has hardly been used, the dryness was so severe when I got it. It has gotten better but can still use some work, if anyone has and recommendations for softening the leather please share them with me. Come find me on TackHunter at HollyWillis!
i was recently scrolling through my Instagram and I saw a post that said “30 day confidence builder with your horse” if I find the main one I saw I will link it but check out this one!30 day confidence with your horse!
